Yifan Xie holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology and a Master’s degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley, where he is currently a research assistant working on a reuse project.

His research interests lie in leveraging structural reconfiguration within reuse strategies to minimise carbon emissions and to enhance sustainability in the built environment, with a focus on incorporating AI and machine learning techniques for optimisation.
