Yinan Xiao is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Institute for Structural Design (ITE), Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany. He holds an M.Sc. from the Design of Structures research group (ADS) at Aalto University, Finland, and a BArch from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, graduating with distinction. His doctoral research investigates geometry-based graphical methods as a means to integrate robotic fabrication, structural design, and gradient-based optimization. His current research interests lie at developing computational tools for AI-assisted structural design and analysis, with a focus on leveraging graph neural networks (GNN) and reinforcement learning (RL) for graph-based structural models.
